Forgiving Yourself

Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your sins.” (Mark 11:25 NET)

One of the hardest things for a person to do is to forgive themself. It is actually easier to forgive others, but to forgive yourself for something you did that you know is wrong, especially when it has hurt someone else, that's a tough one. But God said we must forgive anyone, and that includes ourself. If you have done something that you know is wrong, that you said you would never do, but did anyway, you will need to forgive yourself. If you have done something to someone that was hurt because of what you did, you will need to forgive yourself. One of the toughest things to do is to look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself, "I forgive you." It is tough, and it may even hurt, but it is a necessity! You may have to do this several times, but we are instructed to do this in Mark 11:25.

New Beginnings

Gen 1:1
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (NET)

Everything has to start from some place, and that is the beginning. Whenever God calls you to do something, whether it be some huge ministry or perhaps a small task, you have to start from somewhere, and that is the beginning. But too many times we will just jump into the task without seeking God's counsel and guidance, and then what ends up happening is we usually fall flat on our faces and wonder why it didn't work and was that really God calling me to do that. When God gives you a task to do, start at the beginning, seek His counsel and His guidance, ask Him what you should do and how you should do it.

A New Start...

After encouragement from my friends (and prompting from the Holy Spirit), I am starting my devotional blog again. While this will not be a daily occurrence (it could be daily at times), I am excited to start sharing the verses that have helped me in my life as well as share insights that the Holy Spirit is giving me when I have had my morning coffee in my cave. My cave is actually my bonus room above the garage that I have designed to look like a cave...hence Coffee in the Cave.

I would love to hear what y'all get out of the verses that I share, so please comment...in fact I encourage comments..and please share this blog with your friends. I'm not looking for arguments, but different views to the verses. I love how the Holy Spirit gives different insight to different people, so please share!!!!
